Since August 2023, a new member has been added to our corporate group: ZG Timber Sebes SRL. The sawmill located in Sebes, Romania holds significant strategic importance. Its geographical location is advantageous for supplying the European market, where the demand for wood products is exceptionally high. Moreover, new markets are being explored, allowing the ZIEGLER GROUP to expand its presence in the wood processing industry. Sebes is an ideal location for this purpose. We are making use of the existing facility and the extensive experience of the team. Together, we can accomplish a lot, and together, we are getting closer to our goal of ‘From Tree to House – Creating affordable housing for everyone.

Similar to the sawmill at Betzenmühle, we also manufacture high-quality sawn timber products in Romania. In total, at our new location, up to 1.45 million cubic meters of wood are processed annually. The resulting wood chips and sawmill by-products are, like in Germany, transformed into new products. Waste-free production, with a 100% resource utilization, is ensured. As a result, the pellet production capacity of ZG Timber Sebes SRL amounts to 225 thousand tons per year.

We also pay attention to short distances in Romania. That’s why we source our wood from the area around Sebes. One of the reasons for choosing the location was the good connection to the local rail network. Delivering the wood by train offers us the most economically and ecologically sensible option. Our wood also comes from certified forests. It is impossible for trees from national protected areas to be processed. The ZIEGLER GROUP should not benefit alone. We are rooted in the nature around each of our locations and want to give something back to the country and its people.
